Insurance is genuinely confusing, and the confusion is what stops people booking. So we confirm what your plan or the CDCP covers before treatment goes in the book, and put your portion in writing.

We're accepting the CDCP.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a government-funded programme that offers dental care benefits to eligible Canadians. It covers a wide range of services, from routine check-ups and cleanings through to fillings, crowns and root canals.
It is now available for all ages in the family. Eligibility depends on criteria including income and family size, and it is designed for people without access to private dental insurance.
Our team knows the detail of the plan and can help you understand your eligibility and what is available to you. Bring your CDCP information to your first visit and we will go through it with you.
If you have private insurance
An insurance plan is an agreement with a provider: you pay a monthly premium, and in exchange the company covers part or all of the cost of treatment received at a dental office.
We accept most insurers and offer direct billing, so in most cases we send the claim to them for you. What direct billing does not do is remove the need to know your own plan. Coverage differs enormously between policies, and you remain responsible for understanding yours and for paying your share on time.
That is why we check before treatment starts.
If you have neither
General oral healthcare is not covered by the Canada Health Act, so people without a plan often pay out of pocket. Not everyone has dental insurance, and not everyone who looks for it finds a plan that suits them.
In that case you can arrange a payment plan directly with the practice: an agreement to pay a set amount monthly for the treatment you need, so the work can be done when it needs doing, before it gets worse. It suits longer or more involved courses of treatment, like root canal work or orthodontics that runs over months.
We also take debit, credit and cash.
Treatments people most often claim
Plans differ, so we check yours before anything is booked. These are the services most plans contribute to.

Questions we get most
Eligibility is set by the federal government, not by us, and rests on income, family size and whether you have access to private insurance. We can talk you through where you are likely to stand, but the determination is theirs.
Not always. The plan covers a defined set of services at set rates, and depending on the treatment there can be a portion left over. We work that out before you sit down, not after.
The CDCP is designed for people without access to private coverage, so in most cases it is one or the other. Bring what you have and we will check it.
Your CDCP member number, or your insurance card and policy details. If you are not sure what you have, come anyway. We can usually find it.
