What it is

Dental hygiene & gum health

Preventive care starts with understanding your oral health. We assess your teeth and gums and recommend care tailored to your needs.

Professional scaling removes plaque and hardened deposits called tartar that brushing and flossing alone cannot remove. Together with daily home care, it helps manage the buildup that contributes to gum inflammation.

If gum disease is present, additional periodontal treatment may be recommended. Your hygiene care and visit frequency are based on your individual needs.

Worth asking

Anything else, ask us. Suitability for any treatment is confirmed at a clinical assessment.

Does a cleaning hurt?

Most people feel scraping and pressure, not pain. If your gums are sensitive, tell us and we can numb the area or go more gently.

Why every six months?

It suits most people. If your gums need closer attention we may suggest every three or four months, and we'll tell you why.
